1. Acceptance of these Terms
By accessing or using WannaBuddy — the website, mobile experience, or any related service (collectively, the "Service") — you agree to be bound by these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use the Service.
2. Eligibility
- You must be at least 18 years old.
- You must be a legal resident of the United States with a valid US zip code.
- You must be able to form a binding contract under US law and must not be barred from using the Service under any applicable law.
- You may hold only one account, under your real identity.
3. What WannaBuddy is
WannaBuddy helps people find company for shared interests, activities, and places — it is a platonic-connection platform, not a dating service. WannaBuddy does not vet, endorse, or guarantee any member, and does not participate in, or take responsibility for, meetings or activities members arrange with each other.
4. Your account
- You're responsible for keeping your login credentials confidential and for all activity under your account.
- You agree to provide accurate information and to keep it up to date.
- Notify us immediately at support@wannabuddy.com if you suspect unauthorized access to your account.
5. Acceptable use
Your use of the Service is also governed by our Community Guidelines, which are incorporated into these Terms by reference. Violating the Community Guidelines is a violation of these Terms and may result in content removal, account restriction, suspension, or termination as described there.
6. Your content
- You retain ownership of the profile information, messages, photos, and other content you post ("User Content").
- By posting User Content, you grant WannaBuddy a non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free, sublicensable license to host, store, reproduce, and display it solely to operate and improve the Service.
- You represent that you have the rights necessary to post your User Content and that it doesn't infringe anyone else's rights.
- We may remove any User Content that violates these Terms or our Community Guidelines.
7. In-person meetups & assumption of risk
WannaBuddy connects people online, but many connections lead to meeting in person around a shared activity. WannaBuddy does not conduct criminal background checks, identity verification beyond basic account creation, or any other vetting of members, and cannot guarantee the identity, intentions, or conduct of any user.
You are solely responsible for your own safety and decisions in connection with any meetup, online or offline. You assume all risk arising from your interactions with other members, including meeting in person, and you agree that WannaBuddy is not liable for the conduct — online or offline — of any member. See Meeting Up Safely in our Community Guidelines for practical precautions.
8. Third-party services
The Service may link to or integrate with third-party websites or services we don't control. We're not responsible for their content, policies, or practices, and your use of them is at your own risk.
9. Intellectual property
The Service, including its design, text, graphics, logos, and underlying software, is owned by WannaBuddy.com or its licensors and is protected by intellectual property law. You may not copy, modify, or distribute any part of the Service without our written permission.
If you believe content on WannaBuddy infringes your copyright, use the Report Post functionality to report the issue.
10. Suspension & termination
- You may delete your account at any time from profile settings. Note that this deletion can not be reversed.
- We may suspend or terminate your account for violating these Terms or our Community Guidelines, or at our discretion to protect the Service or other members, with notice where practicable.
- Sections that by their nature should survive termination (e.g., Sections 6, 7, 9, 12, 13, 14) will survive.
11. Disclaimers
THE SERVICE IS PROVIDED "AS IS" AND "AS AVAILABLE," WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, WHETHER EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, OR NON-INFRINGEMENT. WE DO NOT WARRANT THAT THE SERVICE WILL BE UNINTERRUPTED, SECURE, OR ERROR-FREE, OR THAT ANY MEMBER YOU CONNECT WITH WILL BEHAVE AS REPRESENTED OR EXPECTED.
12. Limitation of liability
TO THE FULLEST EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, WANNABUDDY AND ITS OFFICERS, EMPLOYEES, AND AGENTS WILL NOT BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES, OR ANY LOSS OF PROFITS, DATA, OR GOODWILL, ARISING FROM YOUR USE OF THE SERVICE OR YOUR INTERACTIONS WITH OTHER MEMBERS — INCLUDING IN-PERSON MEETUPS — EVEN IF WE HAVE BEEN ADVISED OF THE POSSIBILITY OF SUCH DAMAGES. OUR TOTAL LIABILITY FOR ANY CLAIM ARISING FROM THESE TERMS OR THE SERVICE WILL NOT EXCEED THE GREATER OF $100 OR THE AMOUNT YOU PAID US, IF ANY, IN THE 12 MONTHS BEFORE THE CLAIM AROSE.
Some states don't allow certain limitations on implied warranties or liability, so some of the above limitations may not apply to you.
13. Indemnification
You agree to indemnify and hold harmless WannaBuddy and its officers, employees, and agents from any claims, damages, or expenses (including reasonable attorneys' fees) arising from your use of the Service, your User Content, your violation of these Terms, or your interactions with other members.
14. Dispute resolution & arbitration
Except for claims that qualify for small claims court, you and WannaBuddy agree to resolve any dispute arising from these Terms or the Service through binding individual arbitration administered by a California licensed arbitration firm chosen by WannaBuddy.com under its rules, rather than in court, except that either party may bring an individual action in small claims court.
Class action waiver: You and WannaBuddy agree that any arbitration or proceeding will be conducted only on an individual basis, and not as a class, consolidated, or representative action.
15. Governing law
These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of California, without regard to its conflict-of-laws principles, except as governed by the Federal Arbitration Act with respect to Section 14.
16. Changes to these Terms
We may update these Terms from time to time. Material changes will be announced in-app or by email at least 7 days before they take effect. Continued use of the Service after that date means you accept the updated Terms.
17. General provisions
- Severability — if any provision of these Terms is found unenforceable, the rest remain in effect.
- Entire agreement — these Terms, the Community Guidelines, and the Privacy Policy make up the entire agreement between you and WannaBuddy regarding the Service.
- No waiver — our failure to enforce a provision isn't a waiver of our right to do so later.
- Assignment — you may not assign these Terms; we may assign them in connection with a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets.
